Users can currently perform palm payment on face recognition devices. They need to bind their personal WeChat account to the device and record the palm print. When making a purchase, simply place the hand over the scanning area of the payment device to complete the payment.

According to the introduction, WeChat’s palm pay has achieved adaptation to different environmental lighting conditions and can also cope with physiological differences in palm prints of different people. It can quickly identify user habits when facing users who stretch out their hands differently.

PCBfactorychina learned that WeChat Pay has currently tested the palm payment device in some merchants in Shenzhen. According to a summary of related patent projects registered by Tencent, the palm-brushing device includes at least one camera for scanning identity information, including QR code information, palm print information and palm vein information.

As another emerging form of identity authentication and payment method, palm pay raises concerns about its security. Some netizens question whether they would dare to wave their hands casually after palm payment is widely used.
